The IRS Group acquires CAR-COLOR Schumacher GmbH

Green light for a common future

Rellingen, den 24.07.18

The IRS Group is bringing even more colour into its corporate portfolio. With effect from 24 July, Hamburg-based CAR-COLOR Schumacher GmbH will become part of the group, combining its expertise as a specialist car repair, body and paint shop with that of the whole network. Since as early as 1998, CAR-COLOR has been committed to quality and service, which is appreciated by corporate customers, renowned car dealers and industrial businesses as much as by private customers. As part of the IRS Group, present managing partner Carsten Schumacher, who will now be acting as a consultant, wants to remain one of the region’s leaders in quality and innovation. “This is both our commitment and our ambition”.

“Everything we do is geared towards living up to the trust our customers place in us each and every day”, Schumacher adds. This already starts with the location itself. The 2,500 m2 workshop, the clearance height of 4.20 m, which is ideal for compact vans and special superstructures, or the excellent direct traffic connection to the greater Hamburg area – you quickly notice that CAR-COLOR indeed sees itself as a partner to its customers, whom the company offers not only the highest level of professionalism, but also a whole range of services which all have first-rate quality in common, ranging from body and paint work to mechanics, including tyre change and storage. Even a special system for repairing aluminium bodywork has been developed here and is now certified.

It is exactly this quest for innovation that brings together the master craftsman-run business, its 20 staff members and the IRS Group. “The steady expansion of our range by adding new ideas and approaches and by implementing new concepts is our strength. Combining this with the strength of a group that thinks and acts in the same way makes me optimistic about the future”, Schumacher says.

Bo Jacobsen, COO B&P of the IRS Group, shares this enthusiasm: “We are sure that Mr Schumacher’s decision to integrate his excellently managed business into our group will make our current strong team in Hamburg even more powerful and consolidate our presence in the city and the greater area for the benefit of both existing and new customers. We are really looking forward to welcoming the experienced and proficient team of CAR COLOR to our group.”

So nothing stands in the way of the acquisition, which, according to Schumacher, will enable his business to again gain more insurance companies as customers and will give his employees, a “great team, which I have put together over the years”, more safety and motivation. And it will allow the soon-to-be-60-year-old master craftsman a little more time outside his workshop, situated in the industrial estate of Doraustieg, to make a trip or two into the blue.

The IRS Group is Europe’s leading group in the fields of smart repair, body and paint work as well as hail damage repair on vehicle bodies. It offers the full range of services relating to the refurbishment and repair of the body and interior of used, hired, accident-damaged and leased vehicles. At present, more than 1,500 employees work within the group.

Becker & Beckmann & the IRS Group

Giving our best together

Rellingen, 01/07/2018

The IRS Group has once again reinforced its network of highly qualified businesses, this time at the location of Berlin. The renowned company Becker & Beckmann GmbH has been part of the group since 1 July, expanding the group’s presence in Germany’s capital city with one of the most state-of-the-art body and paint shops, thereby setting the course for offering the highest level of professionalism to even more customers in the future, in addition to even more security and perspectives to employees. Because it is this full range owner and managing director Gerd Beckmann strives for, which is also reflected in his strong focus on vocational and further training of the employees.

The paint, body and mechanics workshop for all makes and models was established in 1993 as a three-man business in a backyard with a dilapidated wooden floor and has since then gained so much firm ground that Becker & Beckmann is now represented with 130 employees at two locations in Berlin. The daily working time from 6 am to 10 pm is divided into two shifts, serving the customers’ best interest just as much as the fleet of 90 courtesy cars or the pickup and delivery service. Combined with the extraordinarily high level of quality and professionalism, Gerd Beckman boils this philosophy down to a simple and clear essence: “We always give our best.”

However, he is also very well aware of the increasing pressure on service companies and the associated challenges, which has motivated his decision to become part of the IRS Group. “Individual businesses will be having an extremely hard time meeting the growing requirements, finding highly skilled staff and still making profit”, Beckmann explains and adds: “The move to become integrated into the group’s network prepares us for the radical changes our sector will be facing in the near future.”

It is not only the joint expansion of partnerships, but also the improved collaboration with clients such as insurance providers and claims adjusters that is of benefit to both Beckmann and the group. Efficient structures and more affordable cost prices are just as important factors as the competitive advantages resulting from the concentrated know-how and the open exchange within this professional network. Despite this extensive orientation towards the future, the essential things yet remain the same. Beckmann: “Not only are all our employees taken over, but their jobs are now even more secure.” The ongoing optimisation process, to which Beckman and his company have dedicated themselves since the early days in the backyard, is also continued and is gaining effectiveness. And all this happens under one and the same name: Becker & Beckmann. “Which is very important to us as an owner-managed business and, of course, also to me personally”, Beckmann emphasises.

Bo Jacobsen, COO B&P of the IRS Group, shares this opinion: “We are really delighted to integrate Mr Beckmann and his two Berlin-based branches into our group and our portfolio in Berlin, because his name stands for a body and paint shop with an exemplary organisation and structure”. Jacobsen adds: “The experience and professionalism of his highly motivated team is simply a great asset for us and the ambition to always give our best is undoubtedly our fundamental common denominator.”

DER LACKMEISTER H. u. M. Kammer GmbH becomes part of the IRS Group

A vision combining tradition and innovation

Rellingen, 01/07/2018
The Intelligent Repair Solutions Group has again grown stronger by incorporating yet another business. Since 1 July, the family business DER LACKMEISTER H. u. M. Kammer GmbH has been part of the group, which has dedicated itself to revolutionising vehicle repair to be able to meet all future customer requirements. And it is exactly this vision which has convinced Managing Director Maria Kammer to open up a new chapter in her company’s success story.

What started out as a small family-managed paint shop in Landau more than 65 years ago has by now become a TÜV- and DEKRA- certified “Independent car repair shop for all makes” with 19 employees, among them 2 trainees. The company has stood out with premium service quality ever since. To Maria Kammer, her husband Harald and their daughter Mona, this is a matter of honour. “The long-term personal relationship with our customers and their full satisfaction has always been particularly important to us. Everything we do is geared towards that”, Maria Kammer says.

Alongside this sense of responsibility and fairness, the family business is also characterised by a spirit of innovation. “In our ongoing effort to continuously improve, we have always aimed for further development in all areas, such as technology, our range of services and customer support.” As a partner to renowned insurance companies and entire corporate vehicle fleets, Der Lackmeister has also offered active claims management since 2004. “Becoming part of the IRS Group is just the next logical step”, Kammer adds.

It is the right move for both sides. Bo Jacobsen, COO B&P of the IRS Group: “We are delighted to welcome the Kammer family and their team to the IRS Group. The high standards of service and quality they have offered from the very beginning exactly match the standards we would like to ensure for our customers now and in the future.” The location plays an important role as well: “Its location in Landau makes the body and paint shop the perfect addition to our presence in the region, along with our branches in Ludwigsburg, Heilbronn, Darmstadt and Lahr”, Jacobsen emphasises and concludes: “Maria and Harald Kammer have set up an impressive business with an excellent and efficient structure, which is a great asset for the future of our group.”

The two Managing Directors also feel well prepared for the future under the roof of IRS and backed by the group’s expertise. Process optimisations and exchange of know-how within the network are just as important to them as the fact of being able to offer their employees the best conditions and more safety at the familiar location, the goal being to guarantee that their customers continue to receive what the name Kammer has been synonymous with ever since: maximum quality and professionalism. And this is where the visions of the group and Maria Kammer overlap: “Being able to meet future customer requirements also means that our lifework is preserved.” Daughter Mona Kammer, who will carry on the business, regards the affiliation with the IRS Group as the perfect combination of craftsmanship and networking, which will help her write this new chapter of her family business. And she does true to family tradition – with a great deal of innovative spirit.
